Earth Day 2020
Land art, variously known as Earth art, environmental art, and Earthworks, is an art movement that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s. As a trend "Land art" expanded the boundaries of art by the materials used and the siting of the works. The materials used were often the materials of the Earth including, for instance, the soil and rocks and vegetation and water found on-site. It is made directly in the landscape, sculpting the land itself into earthworks or making structures in the landscape using natural materials.

West Milford High School art students were given the challenge of going out into their environment and creating a work of art using natural materials to celebrate Earth Day. Highlanders always find creative ways to meet and exceed our expectations and they did a fantastic job all while practicing Social Distancing.
