Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to wish you all a wonderful and productive school year.  The first day of school for our students is Thursday, September 7 and the official school calendar can be found on our website.

In May, the Board of Education collaboratively developed four (4) district goals for the 2017-2018 school year:

  1. Improve academic performance through increased design and implementation of differentiated instruction.
  2. Implement an effective and timely communication plan to promote district/parent relationships, improve internal school efficiencies, and improve district management.
  3. Analyze the current math program in grades K-12, evaluate for effectiveness, and make appropriate recommendations for the 2018-2019 school year.
  4. Explore all opportunities and districtwide cost efficiencies in order to maximize funding for educational programs.

Over the summer months, our administrators have been aligning our school/department goals with our district goals and preparing our learning spaces for staff and students.  We are also finishing the auditorium renovation at WMHS and preparing to renovate the greenhouses at Macopin and WMHS as well.

All the information you need for your child this year can be found on our website or the parent portal. You can log on to www.wmtps.org to find this information.  Student schedules will be available on Monday, August 14.  Bus passes will be made available on the parent portal on Friday, August 18.  You will need to print your child’s bus pass so that he/she will be allowed to ride the bus on the first day of school.  If you have any bus pass questions, please contact the Transportation Department at 973-697-0777.

All students will report to their assigned schools on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at their scheduled time. If you have any questions regarding the information on our website, please contact your child’s school.
